'I've never felt pretty enough to be a model,' says former Playboy Playmate Pamela Anderson as she reveals plans to grow old gracefully rather than 'chase youth'
She got her big break when she appeared in Playboy Magazine nearly 25 years ago.
And
despite appearing on more covers of the publication than anyone else
and a successful career that moved into acting, Pamela Anderson still
doesn't think she's 'pretty enough' to be a model.
The 47-year-old star recently revealed to Parade magazine that she believes her modelling is laughable.
Revealing: Pamela Anderson recently told Parade magazine, she has 'never felt pretty enough to be a model'
She
said: 'I've just signed with Next Modelling agency for commercials and
appearances. That is funny. I've never felt pretty enough to be a model.
'I think I've provoked feelings with how I look. But not as a beauty but as a mischievous little rascal!'
However,
the former Baywatch actress - who admits she's always preferred casual
clothing to looking glamorous - does believe she's beautiful for who she
is on the inside.
Blonde bombshell: The 47-year-old star
burst onto the scene as the centrefold in Playboy nearly 25 years ago,
and has appeared on the cover more than anyone else before as she can
be seen in the February 1999 issue
She
continued: 'I've always been a tomboy. That was never the first thing
on my list. My mum always told me beauty comes from within.'
Pamela added: 'And I know that's maybe a cliché, but I do believe that. And I think that's what lasts forever.'
The
blonde beauty - who has previously confessed to having a number of
cosmetic procedures in the past - insists she's now looking forward to
growing old.
Evergreen: The actress recently showed
off her slender figure in an elegant black gown as she appeared at the
Help Haiti Home gala in Los Angeles just over two weeks ago
The
wife of Rick Salomon added to Parade magazine: 'I don't really feel like
I want to chase youth. I want to get old. I want to experience all the
seasons of my life. I just don't want to be afraid of it.
'And
I think in this industry you're surrounded by a lot of fear of getting
older and fear of your looks leaving you. And I thought, "Well, I'm
lucky then, because I never really felt that great looking".
'I
felt like I could have fun. I felt like I could be sexy. I could be
provocative and I could use my image to get attention for things I cared
about.'
Signature role: The blonde beauty spun
her modelling into an acting career as she appeared as CJ Parker on
Baywatch from 1992 to 1997
Pamela's acting career is going swimmingly along as well, as she is currently filming the mystery The People Garden.
The
Nadia Litz written and directed film will focus upon the disappearance
of a rock star, and his Japan based actress-girlfriend who sets out to
find him.
